Nuteeriat by David Noel

Twenty-five years ago David Noel wrote a book called "Nuteeriat". Its content ranges far and wide, but includes the expanding Earth and some related information. The book has now been reworked into a series of web articles, at:

Nuteeriat: Nut Trees, the Expanding Earth, Rottnest Island, and All That ... http://www.aoi.com.au/NUSite/index.htm.

There is also a brief blurb about the conversion, at:

A new Mechanism for Matter Increase within the Earth by John Eichler

A published article postulating a feasible physical process whereby the Earth is increasing in mass. If the Earth is indeed increasing in mass then there must be a physical mechanism responsible for this increase. Most of the mechanisms postulated in the past have involved speculation having little or no support from empirical experiments. The case is made that it is feasible to suggest that, due to the magnetic field of the Earth, bombardment by plasma from the Sun provides more than enough mass in the form of both protons and electrons to account for a slow increase in matter internally over hundreds of millions of years. The exact process by which this occurs is complex in its nature and, like the interior of the Earth itself, involves speculation as to its dynamics. This article presents a scenario based on known physical experimental results documented in an extensive list of references that may be referred to by the reader for more detailed study. Rhetoric And Paradigm Change In Science: Three Case Studies by John Eichler

This Masters thesis investigates, as case studies, three little-known scientific concepts, each put forth by a well-known, respected scientist: Edwin Hubble - Astronomer, Hannes Alfvén - Physicist, and Samuel Warren Carey - Geologist. In each case the concept suggested challenges an established scientific paradigm and, if correct, would significantly alter our current view of the universe. All three concepts seem to be ripe to invoke a paradigm shift yet none has yet occurred. This study looks at these cases through the lens of (1) the rhetorical arguments used by these scientists and their followers to advance their proposed concepts, and (2) the paradigm shift model as put forth by Thomas Kuhn. A detailed, largely non-technical, discussion is given for each concept to enable readers to understand the nature of what is being proposed and the continuing research in each of these scientific fields. Even though the original three scientists are deceased, their concepts still have an active, albeit small, following in today’s scientific community. One of the concepts discussed is Expansion Tectonics. (Click here to access this thesis)
